Abstract

Dental and Oral Therapists (TGM) require a specific documentation system for dental and oral health care. However, existing Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are generally not aligned with the workflow and authority of TGMs. This gap has the potential to decrease service quality and professional accountability. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a prototype web-based EMR application named SIDALUT (Dental and Oral Health Care Documentation System) designed specifically for TGMs. This research employed a descriptive method with a cross-sectional design, conducted in September 2023 with 33 final-year students from the Dental Health Department of Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta I, selected through total sampling. The evaluation was performed by two subject matter experts from the Indonesian Association of Dental and Oral Therapists (PTGMI) and by users through a Likert scale questionnaire. The results showed that SIDALUT was successfully developed as a web-based application covering the five stages of the care process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The application received "strongly agree" and "agree" ratings from the experts for all content indicators. The user evaluation indicated a very positive perception across four main aspects: content (90.9% agree/strongly agree), accuracy (92.9% agree/strongly agree), design (88.9% agree/strongly agree), and ease of use (92.9% agree/strongly agree). It is concluded that the SIDALUT application is deemed feasible and has the potential to be an effective solution for improving the quality and efficiency of dental and oral health care documentation by TGMs
