There is a significant relationship between the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of 600 mothers and the oral hygiene conditions of children in the 6-12 year age group, therefore innovation is needed as a solution to this gap in improving mothers' skills in maintaining children's dental and oral health. The Yummy Mobile Application is an application that has been created to help parents maintain dental health at home. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness app "Yummy" in improving mothers' knowledge, attitudes, skills in maintaining oral health in early childhood, and improve the oral hygiene of early childhood. Method: quasy-experimental Non Randomized Control Group Pretest and Posttest Design (Non Equivalent Control Group), subjects is mother and child pairs aged 3-6 years (n=96). The intervention group was given access to the “Yummy” application (n=48). The control group was given leaflets (n=48). Results: A total of 48 mother and child pairs participated in the study; The average age of children is 5.1 years. Results of the paired samples test of mothers' knowledge, mothers' skills, child index plaque (p-value 0.000). The results of the Wilcoxon attitude test have a p-value of 0.000. Independent samples test results of mothers' knowledge, mothers' skills, child index plaque (p value 0.000). Mann-Whitney test results p value 0.001. The selection of health promotion media must be based on target tastes, have a broad impact, and be delivered attractively. The phenomenon of using social media as a parenting education medium among young mothers cannot be separated from technological advances accompanied by the emergence of the internet. Young mothers before the internet will be oriented to the experience of previous parents on how to maintain dental and oral health in toddlers. Now educational information about parenting has led to online platforms, one of which is Instagram social media. Objective: Design and build a dental health promotion application through Instagram aimed at young mothers. Method: Research and development of Instagram social media SiGigi_Ku using the R &amp; D method. Sampling using purposive sampling techniques on young mothers who have toddlers aged 23-35 years totaling 36 people. Results: The media suitability test assessed by 3 experts obtained an average value of 87.41 with a very high interpretation, meaning the media was suitable for use. The Wilxocon test on 36 samples showed a significant increase in maternal knowledge (p-value 0.000). The water conditions in South Kalimantan have a flour content of 0.00 ppm with a pH level below 6.5. Fluorine levels below 1 ppm and pH below 6.5 can cause low tooth resistance, thereby increasing the risk of dental caries. Method: This research is a quantitative study, with an analytical observational design with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in Central Malay Village, Banjar Regency, using 2 variables, namely the independent variable was river water and the dependent variable was dental caries. Examination of drinking water sources originating from the Martapura river using Examination Questionnaire Instruments, and measuring children's dental caries using dental examination instruments and dental and oral examination sheets. Data were collected using a computer program and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney statistical test. Results: The results of the study showed that consumption of drinking water from Martapura river water had low dental caries of 35% and high dental caries of 65%. Consumption of drinking water from other drinking water sources with low dental caries is 33% and high dental caries is 67%. Bivariate analysis using the Mann-Whitney technique, obtained Asymp results. Sig./ p-value 0.000 with a significance level of 95% (?=0.05). This nutritional status affects the weight and height of children. The group of children who are too short (stunted) compared to children their age are called stunted children, who if left unchecked are likely to continue to become stunted children. To meet their nutritional needs, children need good nutritional intake through nutritious food or drinks such as milk. Milk is one of the causes of caries in teeth. Objective: to analyze the influence of milk feeding patterns on the incidence of caries in stunted children in Rambang Muara Enim District, South Sumatra. This type of research is quantitative research with respondents totaling 41 stunted children aged 2-5 years and consuming milk, the sampling technique used was total sampling, measuring instruments used were question sheets on milk feeding patterns, data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. Research Results: Stunted children in Rambang District, totaling 41 children, have an average def-t of 5.92 with high criteria. The incidence of caries is due to the pattern of giving milk that uses sweetened condensed milk to drink daily, the frequency of drinking milk is too high. often, and larger amounts of milk, as well as the use of pacifiers. Stroke is in third place in Indonesia with a total of 1,789,261 cases. Stroke patients often experience limitations in mobilizing. Difficulty maintaining oral and dental health due to cognitive and physical disorders can increase the risk of oral mucosal infections, tooth decay and worsen the disease suffered. All the daily life activities of stroke patients are assisted by their family members, such as nutritional needs and mobility needs, the personal hygiene needs, especially oral hygiene needs. Objective :The purpose of this study was to analyzing the influence of oral health care on the family's knowledge and the oral hygiene of stroke patients in the Ruby Ward of Dr. Slamet Regional General Hospital, Garut Regency. Method : The research design employed was a pre-experimental design with a one-group Pre-Test and Post-Test design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, comprising a total of 48 stroke patients for the research. The research instruments consisted of a questionnaire and the assessment of the Simplified Oral Hygiene Index (OHI-S). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. Results: in Ruby Inpatient Room RSUD dr. Slamet, family knowledge of stroke patients after being given dental (p&lt;0.001) and oral health care experienced an improvement and OHI-S stroke patient got better (p&lt;0.001). Promotive activities are essential to enhance children's knowledge from an early age, enabling them to practice preventive measures against dental caries. This research aimed to explore the need for audiovisual learning media to improve the understanding of dental caries among elementary school children. A mixed-method approach was utilized, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative phase involved conducting a survey on children's understanding levels of caries using a questionnaire and analyzing the data using descriptive statistics. Meanwhile, the qualitative phase included interviews with the school principal, a teacher, and a parent of a student using interview guidelines. The qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis methods to gain insights into perceptions regarding the potential development of audiovisual media. The findings indicated a low level of understanding among children about dental caries and limitations in dental health education efforts from health centers. Teachers, despite their efforts, faced challenges due to a lack of relevant knowledge. The potential of audiovisual learning media was acknowledged as an effective solution to enhance student understanding. In the health sector, ARDent has developed rapidly based on previous scientific studies. Multimedia technology can help create a quality learning environment for dental students by combining various medium and technology, such as text, graphics, sound and animation, including ARDent. The addition of existing Augmented Reality technology, ARDent as a learning medium will attract the attention of dental therapy students because it can provide an interactive, three-dimensional virtual presentation in the introduction and use of oral surgical dentistry tools. <strong>Purpose:</strong> This research aims to assess the effectiveness of developing the ARDent application as a medium for increasing the knowledge of Dental Therapy students in learning oral surgery. <strong>Method:</strong> The research method used is Research and Development (R&amp;D), namely Information Collection, Design, Expert Validation, Product Testing, and Analysis of the product results. <strong>Results:</strong> The expert validation results revealed that the third expert’s score averaged 88.6%, with a p-value of 0.039. The variables of software engineering, visual communication, and functionality, both pre and post-test scores on the ARDent application for applied bachelor dental therapy students, demonstrated a significance score of &gt;0.001 for all three aspects (Paired T-Test). <strong>Conclusion:</strong> ARDent is effective in the aspects of software engineering, visual communication, and functionality, serving as an effective learning medium to enhance the knowledge of applied dental therapy students in learning oral surgery.</p> Ainun Ayu Yuniar Zilal Islamy Paramma Nur Aedah AR Muh. The prevalence of oral health issues in Indonesia is 57.6%, with 41.3% in DKI Jakarta. Dental problems are influenced by acidic pH in the oral cavity, leading to tooth decay and cavity formation. The prevalence of dental caries and gum inflammation is higher in children aged 5-9 years and 9-14 years. Children with special needs, including those with intellectual disabilities, are vulnerable to oral health problems, emphasizing the need for special attention in education and healthcare. The drill method, a repetitive training approach, is one option for teaching oral hygiene to children with intellectual disabilities and motivating them to practice independently. Both the drill and reward methods can enhance toothbrushing skills and interest, thus preventing oral health issues. Objective: This study aims to determine the influence of the drill and reward methods on toothbrushing skills and interest in mild intellectual disability children aged 5-14 years. Method: This research employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test. Results: Statistical analysis using paired sample t-tests showed a significant influence of the drill method on toothbrushing skills (p &lt; 0.05). Similarly, the reward method significantly affected toothbrushing interest (p &lt; 0.05). This disease occurs because of plaque that sticks to the surface of the teeth. The contents of plaque consist of microorganisms in the form of biofilm. This biofilm can affect the structure of the oral cavity. Controlling plaque accumulation can be done by gargling with boiled water. The mechanical effect of gargling can clean plaque on the surface of the teeth. Salan leaves (Syzgium polyanthum) and guava leaves (Psidium guajava Linn) have chemical effects, because they contain flavonoid compounds which can inhibit plaque growth. The aim of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of gargling boiled bay leaves (syzygium polyanthum) and guava leaves (psidium guajava linn) on reducing plaque index in students of the Department of Dental Health, Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Manado. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a pre-test and post-test design. This research was carried out by providing treatment to respondents and checking the plaque index before and after gargling with a decoction of bay leaves (syzygium polyanthum) and guava leaves (psidium guajava linn). The sample in this study amounted to 50 people. The data were analyzed using the t-test. Based on the results of the t-test, it was found that ? value=0.00 (0.00&lt;0.05) meaning that there was a significant difference between before and after gargling with boiled bay leaves (syzygium polyanthum) and guava leaves (psidium guajava linn ). The results of this study also showed that there was a difference in the plaque index value after gargling with decoction of bay leaves (syzygium polyanthum) and guava leaves (psidium guajava linn), where the average value before gargling decoction of bay leaves was 2.7 and after 1 and had The difference in decrease was 1.7 points, while the average value before gargling with boiled guava leaves was 2.6 and after 1.1 and had a difference in decrease of 1.5 points. Health education for children is usually carried out through various preventive and promotive efforts by providing (Dental Health Education). The family influences the attitudes and beliefs of its members. Objective: To determine the increase in mothers knowledge using electronic modules. Method: The research used was Quasi-Experimental with a quantitative design approach, namely pre and post test control group design. The sample for this study was parents divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention group and the control group with a total of 60 people. Analysis uses the Independent T-Test. Results: The results of the analysis using the Independent T-Test obtained ?-value = 0.023 (? &lt; 0.05), meaning that there was a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group. Mother's Oral Health Literacy is the key to change in children's oral health. The relationship between health literacy and health outcomes has been widely published, but evidence of the impact of oral health literacy remains under-researched. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of mother's oral health literacy on the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQOL) of toddlers. Methods. Analytical observational research with a cross-sectional approach in the Silo II Health Center work area for toddlers aged 36-60 months (1027 toddlers). Samples were taken by cluster random sampling of as many as 95 toddlers. The variables of this study were Mother's Oral Health Literacy with the HeLD Index measuring instrument and Oral Health-Related Quality of Life with the Ecohis index measuring instrument. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and the Spearman Correlation test. Results. Mother's Oral Health Literacy average of 64.68 ± 33.37 (moderate category). The average Oral Health Related Quality of Life is 29.55 ± 14.97 (moderate category). There is a relationship between Mother's Oral Health Literacy and Oral Health-Related Quality of Life (p-value=0.000). Conclusion. Apart from dental caries, preschool children generally have poor dental hygiene status, this is because preschool children do not yet have the independence to brush their teeth. Promotive and preventive measures must be emphasized because curative measures require more complex treatment and greater costs. Promotive efforts are carried out through dental and oral health education, especially the formation of dental health behavior. One effort is to modify the method of providing oral health education by using music and songs. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of tooth brushing songs in improving preschool children's tooth brushing skills and dental hygiene status. Method: This research used a pre-experimental design with a pretest and posttest with control group design. This research was carried out on pre-school children at Pertiwi VI Kindergarten, Pondok Labu Village, South Jakarta. The sampling technique was purposive sampling of 33 respondents. The instruments used to measure teeth brushing skills were observation sheets and the PHP-M index to measure dental hygiene status. The data was tested using paired sample t-test analysis, namely a pre-post design. Results: The tooth brushing song was effective in improving tooth brushing skills (p&lt;0.001) and effective in improving the dental and oral hygiene status of preschool children (p&lt;0.001). The 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) highlighted alarming dental health issues, with only 2.1% of Indonesian children aged 10-14 practicing twice-daily toothbrushing. North Sulawesi exhibited a meager 3.5% understanding of the proper brushing times, resulting in 96.3% brushing without awareness of the correct timing. <strong>Objective:</strong> This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of leaflets and audio-visual media on toothbrushing knowledge among SDN Bangomolunow students. <strong>Method:</strong> Employing a quasi-experimental Pretest-Posttest Control Group design, 56 students were selected using purposive sampling and Slovin's formula. The research involved pre-tests, education for Group A via leaflets, and Group B via audio-visual media, followed by post-tests. The variable assessed was the level of knowledge of toothbrushing using a questionnaire instrument on how to brush teeth properly and correctly. Data analysis to show effectiveness uses the independent t-test. <strong>Results:</strong> The independent t-test resulted in a p-value of 0.037 which shows that both leaflet and audio-visual media are effective. Sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack) leaves are natural ingredients known for their antibacterial properties and are increasingly being used. This research aimed to test the antibacterial activity of gel toothpaste with Sungkai leaf extract against Streptococcus mutans bacteria. This study was a true-experimental design that compared the inhibitory effect of gel toothpaste with Sungkai leaf extract using the disk diffusion method at various concentration formulations (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%) compared to the control. The results showed that the higher the concentration of Sungkai leaf extract, the inhibitory effect was also significantly increases (p &lt; 0.005). At a concentration of 25%, it even had an inhibitory effect that was not significantly different from the control (p = 0.184).
