DEVELOPMENT OF A DENTAL HEALTH PROMOTION MODEL USING INSTAGRAM SOCIAL MEDIA IN INCREASING MOTHER’S KNOWLEDGE

Media is a tool used by health workers in the health promotion process. The selection of health promotion media must be based on target tastes, have a broad impact, and be delivered attractively. The phenomenon of using social media as a parenting education medium among young mothers cannot be separated from technological advances accompanied by the emergence of the internet. Young mothers before the internet will be oriented to the experience of previous parents on how to maintain dental and oral health in toddlers. Now educational information about parenting has led to online platforms, one of which is Instagram social media. Objective: Design and build a dental health promotion application through Instagram aimed at young mothers. Method: Research and development of Instagram social media SiGigi_Ku using the R & D method. Sampling using purposive sampling techniques on young mothers who have toddlers aged 23-35 years totaling 36 people. Results: The media suitability test assessed by 3 experts obtained an average value of 87.41 with a very high interpretation, meaning the media was suitable for use. The Wilxocon test on 36 samples showed a significant increase in maternal knowledge (p-value 0.000). Conclusion: SiGigi_Ku Instagram social media is suitable for use and is effective in increasing mother’ knowledgeDownloads
