Abstract

Background: Stunting causes developmental problems in children, especially toddlers (under two years old), resulting in cognitive and motor developmental disorders that will affect the child's ability to receive lessons and long-term effects will affect work productivity as adults. A mother's nutritional knowledge affects the nutritional status of toddlers, 48.2% of toddlers born to mothers with poor knowledge have poor nutritional status, mothers with poor stunting knowledge have a 3.27 times greater risk of stunting than mothers with good knowledge. Dental and oral health promotion is a process of providing information that aims to produce good dental and oral health and improve the standard of living, the media commonly used in health promotion, namely audio-visual, is a good media to use, because it involves the senses of hearing and sight. The aim of implementing dental and oral health videos is to increase the knowledge of pregnant women in preventing stunting. This research method is Quasi-Experimental with a quantitative design approach, namely pre-test and post-test control group design, purposive sampling technique, with a sample size of 80 students, data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the Mann-Whitney Test analysis obtained a ?-value = 0.000 (? <0.05), meaning that there was a significant difference in knowledge between the intervention group and the control group. The conclusion is that dental health videos are effective in increasing the knowledge of pregnant women in preventing stunting.
