D' FOR CHILD APPLICATION AS AN EDUCATION MEDIA FOR DENTAL AND ORAL HEALTH FOR STUDENTS OF SD NEGERI I KAWALU TASIKMALAYA CITY

The prevalence of dental caries based on data from the 2023 Indonesian health survey is 43,6%, Westjava Province is 48%. The prevalence of cavities based on the age group of 5-9 years is 49,9% and the age of 10-14 years is 37,2%. Efforts to prevent dental and oral health problems can be carried out through promotion and prevention efforts through dental health care with a behavioral approach using several media. The D' for Child application is a digital application that provides information about the importance of maintaining dental health in children. Purpose: The D' for Child application as an educational medium to improve knowledge and behavior. Method: quasi experiment with a two-group pre and posttest design, namely providing an intervention group of the D' for Child application, while the control group used poster media. The sample selected in this study used a total sampling of 33 people. Results: the average difference in knowledge of the intervention group was 12,45. The average difference in knowledge of the control group was 11,21. The average behavior of the intervention group was 3,18. The average difference in the control group was 0,88. A p-value of 0.000 for a significant difference in knowledge between the intervention group and the control group, a p-value of 0.000 for a significant difference in behavior between the intervention group and the control group. Conclusion: The D' for Child app gave better results in improving knowledge and behavior compared to the control group.Downloads
