Background: Tooth extraction is the act of removing the tooth and its roots from sockets. The consequences of tooth extraction are the disruption of masticatory function, speech and aesthetics. One of the anticipatory steps to prevent discomfort due to tooth loss is the use of dentures. InfoDATIN data in 2019 showed that cases of permanent tooth extraction due to dental caries in Indonesia account for 19%, with 4.5% of denture users. Objective: to determine the relationship between permanent tooth extraction and patient interest in denture use. Methods: Analytical survey research using a cross-sectional design. The study population of patients at the Dental Clinic who have undergone permanent tooth extraction. The study sample was 36 respondents, who were taken with a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis using Kendall's tau-b. Results: Kendall's tau-b test showed that the variable of permanent tooth extraction with patient interest in using dentures has a significant relationship. Respondents who performed tooth extraction with high criteria (more than one tooth) had a considerable interest in using a denture with a percentage of 80.6%. Conclusion: The more teeth extracted, the higher the patient's interest in using a dentureDownloads
